Grade 7/8 Math Teacher - FT

Job Description

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a dynamic Catholic teacher ready to embrace our mission of “Living for Christ and Learning for Life” in Middle School Math, Grades 7-8 Pre-Algebra and Algebra.  This includes instructing children in the teachings of the Catholic Church by word and example and planning lessons in content area that incorporates best practices with consideration for various learning styles. Candidates must be student-centered, have high expectations, keen math aptitude and an enthusiastic approach to working with students and their families. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.

Qualifications:

MN teaching license, Practicing Roman Catholic, Experience preferred

  • Experience teaching seventh and eighth grade math

Reading Specialist - PT

Job Description

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a dynamic Catholic reading specialist ready to offer reading/language arts support to individuals and small groups, work innovatively and collaboratively with parents, students and teachers to provide a creative, dynamic team.  All literary intervention strategies must be planned and aligned with the MN Academic Standards for language arts.

The specialist is expected to be current on educational best practices and apply to provide well-defined learning targets for student mastery.  Candidates will evaluate students’ abilities, develop differentiated plans and track student progress. Candidates must be student-centered, have high expectations, and an enthusiastic approach to working with students. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, are essential.

Qualifications

MN teaching license required. Concentration in language arts support and enrichment.

Practicing Roman Catholic.

Experience teaching Language Arts preferred.

Para Professional

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a part-time para-professionals to assist in  classrooms and the cafeteria.  Hours are 7:30-12:30 Monday-Thursday and 8:45-1:45 on Friday. 

Responsibilities vary greatly from working one-on-one with students to supervising large groups of children in the lunchroom and on the playground (year-round), and conducting various light office/classroom tasks. 

Qualified candidates will possess strong communication skills, basic technology skills, high standards for student behavior and the ability to problem solve with children in a developmentally appropriate manner consistent with our Catholic school mission.  The ideal candidate must be a team player, self-directed, a quick problem solver, and easily adaptable to a variety of situations.  Experience working in schools is preferred.

Substitute Teachers

We are seeking licensed, flexible teachers ready to be on-call on a regular basis for Grades Preschool and K-8, all subject areas.  Daily substitute rate is $110. Substitutes are required to complete a background check and attend a free, 3-hour training called VIRTUS, sponsored by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. 

Qualified applicants may specify days available, preferred grades and/or subjects they are willing to teach.
