Family Prayer Challenge

“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

The St. Michael Family Prayer Challenge encourages families to make small prayer commitments, to pray for others in the community, and to challenge other families to pray this spring and summer!

Take Up the Challenge!

  • Step 1: Decide who or what you will pray for! As a family, choose your prayer intentions — who or what you want to pray for. Pick a family intention, or write down intentions for each member of the family.
  • Step 2: Make a weekly or monthly family prayer commitment! Choose a specific prayer each week or month between now and the end of August. It  can be as small as  praying a Glory Be as a family before bed, or as challenging as praying the Rosary every day!
  • Step 3: Challenge others to step up and pray, too!  Identify another family in our parish or community and challenge them to do the same! You can pray for them and ask them to pray for you, or just urge them to make their own family commitment. If you’re on social media, use hashtag #stmprayerchallenge to  spread the word — and when you’re done, record your prayer commitment on a leaf and add it to the Prayer Tree display in the Gathering Space! (See details on the right.)
