Meet Ms. Kate:
Hello, my name is Kate Bredeck and I am the Preschool Coordinator at St. Michael Catholic Preschool and I am the lead teacher for the Monday-Friday (5-Day) Preschool Program.
In May 2010, I graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University (Go Mustangs!) with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a Pre-Primary emphasis. In 2010, I began my teaching career in Madison, MN where I taught 2 years at a Christian Preschool. In 2012, I was hired at St. Michael Catholic Preschool as the Lead 5-day Teacher. In 2017, I began working toward my Master's Degree in Leadership and Administration at the University of St. Thomas, Murray Institute and became the Coordinator of St. Michael Catholic Preschool.
I truly feel blessed to be teaching and serving at St. Michael Catholic Preschool. I love how we support parents in the education of the whole child by instilling Catholic teachings, growing in our faith, and strengthening a love for learning. I am thankful to be a part of the StMCS community. When I’m not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. During the summer time, I love being at the lake!
Meet Ms. Lisa:
Hello, my name is Lisa Peterson. I grew up in Perham, MN. I attended a small Christian school for 8 years, then graduated from Perham High School. For college, I came down to the "Big City" and attended Concordia College in St. Paul. I majored in Early Childhood education with a concentration in Sociology. I have been involved in early childhood education for the last 22 years in both public and private schools. I have spent the last 6 years teaching preschool at StMCS. I teach the 2 and 3 day program. I also help with the Stay & Play program.
My husband Mark and I feel incredibly blessed to be part of the St. Michael Catholic School community. We have two sons, Will and Sam. Will is a 7th grader and Sam is a 3rd grader, both at StMCS. Sam just made his First Communion and Will is beginning his Confirmation journey.
St. Michael Catholic Preschool Mission
Integrating our mission, “Living for Christ & Learning for Life,” we provide a curriculum which supports parents in teaching the Catholic Faith and offers school readiness skills. Along with Catholic preschool curricula, units of instruction rich in language, mathematics, music, movement, and Spanish will introduce children to the St. Michael Catholic School family before kindergarten.
Morning sessions (8-11 a.m.) with Tuesday/Thursday, Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Monday through Friday options for ages 3-5. Early drop-off (7:30 a.m., no additional fee) and extended care (11 a.m.-6 p.m.) are additional offerings. Our preschool is located at 100 E. Central, St. Michael, just east of our school building across First Street.
Thank you for your interest in St. Michael Catholic Preschool. All preschool sessions for the 2019-2020 preschool year are currently full. If you would like to be placed on our waiting list, please send an email to Kate Bredeck, preschool coordinator.
