I grew up in a very small Catholic town in Kansas. I went to public schools my whole life and Catechism was taught just like any other subject. I was even taught by a few nuns! The Catholic faith was the foundation of our community and school.
After high school, I ventured to Kansas State University (Go, Cats!) to begin my college education. I completed my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Wichita State University in 1986 and my Master's in Education in 1994. While I was in the habit of studying and writing papers, I decided to get my Reading Specialist endorsement, which I completed in 1996. My true passion is helping students discover the wonder of books and enjoy the adventures within.
My husband, our black lab, and I moved to Minnesota in September of 2016. We chose St. Michael because of the small town atmosphere, but also because of the beautiful historic Catholic church. We have three grown daughters and one grandson back in Kansas, along with many other family members. We feel very blessed to be a part of this welcoming community and school, especially being so far from home.
