Physical Education - Long-Term Substitute

We are seeking a full-time physical education teacher to be a long-term substitute for Grades 2-8. Job shall commence mid-March and conclude June 5, 2019.

Substitutes are required to complete a background check and attend a free, 3-hour training called VIRTUS, sponsored by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis.

Lead Teacher/After School Care Coordinator

Job Description

St. Michael Catholic School seeks a coordinator for our after school and summer care program.  

The Coordinator will supervise students in grades Pre-K through 6th grade in our summer care program and after-school program. The Coordinator is responsible for student safety, leading structured activities, monitoring gym, outside activities, and free choice time, administering first aid, assisting with student daily departures, and maintaining a safe and organized care environment. The coordinator assists School Programs Director with planning for an engaging environment for students outside of school time and other assigned duties. (50% office time/50% student contact time)

Hours per Day: M-F, 10:00 am – 6:15 pm

Type of Position: Full Time

Job Qualifications:

Practicing Roman Catholic

Minimum of two years of experience working with students

The ideal candidate will have experience working with children in a daycare, school, or community program. The candidate will have created activities for students and possesses strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively and a willingness to partner with our school staff and families to support the extended care needs of our school.

Candidate will have a dedication to the mission of Catholic Education.  CPR and First Aid certified required within 90 days of hire.  Must complete and comply with the Arch-Diocesan safe environment requirements: Background Check, Virtus training (child safety training), and sign the Code of Conduct for Employees.

Para Professional

St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a part-time para-professional to assist in classrooms and the cafeteria.  Hours are generally 7:30-12:30 Monday-Thursday and 8:45-1:45 on Friday. Occasionally full days 7-3 pm are required for workshops and back-to-school preparations.

Responsibilities vary greatly from working one-on-one with students to supervising large groups of children in the lunchroom and on the playground (year-round), and conducting various light office/classroom tasks. 

Qualified candidates will possess strong communication skills, basic technology skills, high standards for student behavior and the ability to problem solve with children in a developmentally appropriate manner consistent with our Catholic school mission.  The ideal candidate must be a team player, self-directed, a quick problem solver, and easily adaptable to a variety of situations.  Experience working in schools is preferred.

Substitute Teachers

We are seeking licensed, flexible teachers ready to be on-call on a regular basis for Grades Preschool and K-8, all subject areas.  Daily substitute rate is $110. Substitutes are required to complete a background check and attend a free, 3-hour training called VIRTUS, sponsored by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. 

Qualified applicants may specify days available, preferred grades and/or subjects they are willing to teach.
