Kindergarten: Ms. Thares
My roots in the Catholic faith began with my family. I was raised with strong Catholic tradition where I was taught how to have faith, how to pray, how to serve others, and how to love Jesus.
Growing up in the great state of South Dakota, I attended Holy Cross Catholic School in Ipswich for Grades 1-6. I attended our town's public school for grades 7-12 and upon graduation, I attended the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. My intention was to graduate 4 years later with a degree in Music. Instead of Music, I graduated with a BS in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Elementary Education. I received my MS in Education and Reading Certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, WI and my Math Certificate from the University of St. Thomas through the Murray Institute.
I began my teaching career in South Dakota, taught in Wisconsin for 20 years and started subbing in the Archdiocese in 2007. In 2013, I was hired as a full time Kindergarten Teacher at St. Michael Catholic School. I love how I can pray with my students and talk about God, share my faith, and be in an environment that strives to form the entire person of each student and help them to grow into the person God has called them to be on a daily basis.
When I am not teaching or tutoring, you will find me spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, playing piano and during football season, cheering on my Denver Broncos - Go Broncos!!
