Adoration Changes: New Cleaning Protocol, Back to Chapel Friday-Sunday
Beginning this week, parishioners will notice two changes regarding Adoration:
- Adoration in Chapel Friday Through Sunday. Due to an increase in the number of weddings and other church activities and events, we are moving weekend Adoration back to the Adoration chapel just inside the main entrance and to the left) beginning this Friday, July 24. Adoration will be in the small chapel from 8 AM Friday morning until 7 PM Sunday evening, with the Blessed Sacrament reposed by our priests during all weekend Masses. Adoration will continue in the nave, except during Masses, for all other days and times of the week. Please note: The capacity of the Adoration chapel during the pandemic is limited to eight people. If you stop by to adore and no chair is available, please come back at another time.
- New Cleaning Protocol. You've probably noticed people with a backpack sprayer misting the pews after Masses. Cleaners are trained to work around whoever is seated in the pews, and we now have small bottles of the same “ozonated water” available so adorers can mist their spot after Adoration (just like with the Lysol wipe, but using misting bottles instead). You do not need to wipe the area afterward, since the solution disinfects, then evaporates relatively quickly. Dry cloths will be available in case later adorers find a damp or tacky seat.
Finally, we want to remind everyone that we have discontinued livestreaming Adoration due to the fact that our streaming system is not meant to run around the clock. Virtual adoration is available on a number of other websites, including ewtn.com/catholicism/adoration and virtualadoration.home.blog.
