Parish Update for Friday, May 1, 2020

May 1, 2020

Please note: These parish updates appear on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at approximately 3:30 PM.

Adoration Closed 3-7 PM Friday, 1-6 PM Saturday, for Weddings

We have two weddings and a wedding rehearsal today and tomorrow. As a result, Adoration in the church will be suspended today (Friday) 3-7 PM and tomorrow (Saturday) from 1 PM until after the 5 PM Mass. Scheduled adorers have been notified; please do not stop in to adore during these times.

May Stewardship Envelopes Coming Soon

Due to the virus outbreak, Our Sunday Visitor (OSV) is working to remain compliant with all state and federal guidelines. This means that envelope orders are mailing on a different timeline than usual, however, OSV have made the adjustments to shipping processes to ensure that parishioners should receive their envelopes prior to this Sunday. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Food for Those in Need Every Saturday

If you or someone you know needs food, Alleluia Lutheran Church is partnering with CROSS Food Shelf to distribute produce and bakery good from 2 to 4 PM every Saturday.

Upcoming Events
  • Sunday, May 3: Distribution of Holy Water. Richards will be distributing bottles of holy water to those parishioners who would like to receive them after 10:30 AM Mass this weekend in the turnaround near the St. Michael statue. Please come to the church parking lot and drive through.
  • Thursday, May 7: National Day of Prayer. Each year, our parish holds a patriotic Rosary at noon for the National Day of Prayer. This year, the Rosary will be led by Fr. Richards; if we are not yet able to gather, it will be livestreamed. There will be no lunch offered this year due to the virus outbreak.
  • Saturday, May 9: Chillin’ With the Priests Virtual Open Forum. Join us for a virtual vocations night for high-school and college-age men and women from 7 to 8 PM. This night will be an Open Forum with Fr. Richards and Fr. Joe. Questions will be taken before the event. Do you have any questions that you would like Fr. Richards to answer before he leaves St. Michael? Do you want to ask for his wisdom about any challenges you have in your life? Have you received any blessings that you’d like to share? Please send any questions or blessings before the Open Forum to Jim Shovelain at [email protected]. Access the forum via Zoom: zoom.us/j/7634445555?pwd=cmFmZlZvc2ZjbXdFUXRrL0t1UXI2Zz09.
  • Saturday, May 16: Bids for Kids. “Take A Chance” on St. Michael Catholic School by joining their Virtual Bids for Kids Event on Saturday, May 16! Our entire parish is invited to help our school raise more than $125,000 to support our mission. Register for a free virtual ticket/bid number at cbo.io/bidapp/index.php?slug=stmcs.
