Parish Update for Wednesday, May 6, 2020
May 6, 2020
Patriotic Rosary Livestream Tomorrow at Noon
Please join us as we observe the National Day of Prayer with our annual patriotic rosary, noon to 1 PM, led by Fr. Peter Richards. The rosary will be livestreamed from the link on our parish homepage, stmcatholicchurch.org. Lunch will not be provided this year due to the virus outbreak.
Virtual Friday Night Live this Friday at 7 PM
Heads up! With all of the cancellations going on, Youth Ministry has decided NOT to cancel the end of the year FNL—but since we cannot do it in person due to the stay-at-home order, we will be doing it virtually! There will be games, small groups and prayer. We have missed you all so much and hope to see you Friday from 7-9 pm virtually. Please sign up online.
Mother’s Day Flowers, Bubbles and Pins This Sunday After 10:30 AM Mass
This Sunday after 10:30 AM Mass, parishioners can again drive through the circle drive at the church to pick up flowers and bubbles for Mother’s Day, as well as prolife baby-feet pins from Options for Women Cornerstone. Happy Mother’s Day to all our moms!
Adoration Suspended 10 AM to Noon Friday
Adoration will close at 10 AM on Friday due to a funeral. The church will reopen for Adoration at noon. Scheduled adorers will be notified; if you planned to stop by to adore, please do not come during these hours.
Youth Ministry Rosary Suspended
The nightly Youth Ministry rosary on Zoom is being suspended for the time being, though the Youth Ministry staff is still available for youth and teens who needs to talk. The rosary may resume later this summer depending on the virus outbreak, quarantine guidelines and other opportunities to pray and connect.
- Saturday, May 9: Chillin’ With the Priests Virtual Open Forum. Join us for a virtual vocations night for high-school and college-age men and women from 7 to 8 PM. This night will be an Open Forum with Fr. Richards and Fr. Joe. Questions will be taken before the event. Do you have any questions that you would like Fr. Richards to answer before he leaves St. Michael? Do you want to ask for his wisdom about any challenges you have in your life? Have you received any blessings that you’d like to share? Please send any questions or blessings before the Open Forum to Jim Shovelain at s[email protected]. Access the forum at this Zoom link..
- Saturday, May 16: Virtual Bids for Kids: "Take A Chance" on St. Michael Catholic School (StMCS) by joining our Virtual Bids for Kids event on Saturday, May 16! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we’ve had to move entirely online—but because it’s virtual, everyone can come! The entire parish is invited to help StMCS raise more than $125,000 to support our mission. The event is free, but you still need a virtual ticket and bid number to participate. Register and preview silent auction items on our Bids for Kids Registration Page – or to purchase raffle or game tickets, click the Bids for Kids Raffle Tickets webpage link on our parish homepage, stmcatholicchurch.org.
Love Thy Neighbor
Without a collection, and with many people facing financial uncertainty, we hope those of you who are able will still contribute to our mission. Visit our parish homepage at stmcatholicchurch.org for easy giving options. Thank you for your generous support!
