St. Michael Catholic Church

Family of Faith

Family Formation Online Registration Opens On August 2

Family of Faith (formally called LIFT) is the primary faith formation program at St. Michael Catholic Church for families with children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Family of Faith is a family catechesis model that focuses on equipping parents to become the primary educators and evangelizers of their children (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2223-2229).

Parents and children attend the monthly Family of Faith session together as a family (on either Monday or Wednesday evening). Each Family of Faith session is a combination of catechetical formation, faith sharing, prayer, and activity based learning for children. Family of Faith sessions are offered from October through April and follow the four year cycle of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The primary curriculum used is the Family of Faith activity based program from Sophia Press. Parents are also provided with numerous resources and dynamic formation each month to help them grow in their own discipleship. After each monthly Family of Faith session parents continue formation in the home with their children using the assigned activities and materials.
