1st Holy Communion and 1st Confession for Children

The Faith Formation year has started at St. Michael
and registration is now closed for 1st Communion classes

1st Communion + Family of Faith Schedule for 2023-2024
Upcoming Sacrament Prep Classes:
SUNDAY DEC. 10 (3:30-5:30 pm)
One Parent Should Attend the Dec. 10 Class

Children who are validly baptized can prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist beginning in their second-grade year (or 7 years of age). The formation process includes:

• Children attend five Sunday Sacrament Preparation Classes: Oct. 15, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Feb. 18, Mar. 10 (3:30-5:30 pm) (One parent attends the Dec. 10 class)
• Parent(s) attend the Parent Retreat (Saturday Jan. 27: 9:30-11:30 am)
• Children and parents attend the 1st Communion Retreat (Children make their 1st Confession): Saturday Mar. 16 (9:30-11:30 am)
• 1st Communion Mass Practice: Saturday Apr. 20 (9:30-10:30 am)
• 1st Communion Mass for Faith Formation children: Sunday Apr. 21 (11:00 am)
• 1st Communion families must also participate in the Family of Faith family formation program
