The ministries of funeral luncheons are to provide a meal as a way to offer support, love and fellowship to the family and friends that have lost a loved one. Luncheons are typically held immediately following a funeral Mass. There are several opportunities for parishioners to participate:
DONATING SALADS AND BARS
Volunteers contribute to a funeral by making or purchasing bars/cookies on a rotating basis as requested.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON CALLER
The caller contributes to the funeral by calling those that have volunteered to donate bars and informs them of an upcoming funeral luncheon.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON COORDINATOR
The coordinator is the primary contact for staff, volunteers and the family of the deceased and will ensure that the funeral luncheon is coordinated effectively and consistently with our tradition. The coordinator needs to be present on the day of funeral, but serves on a rotating basis so they are not committed to every funeral.
FUNERAL LUNCHEON SERVER
The server contributes to the funeral by helping prepare, serve, and clean up on the day of the funeral. Servers may help all day or for just part of the day as it fits their schedule.
