Purgatorial Society

The Purgatorial Society at St. Michael Catholic Church fasts and prays for the release of the souls in Purgatory. If you are interested in learning more or joining our association, email us at [email protected].

Mission Statement

Empty Purgatory of all the Holy Souls with individual prayers, fasting and Indulgences. Everyone will be responsible for their own choice of prayer, fasting, and Indulgences, and no one will be keeping track of your progress. 
 

Individual Goals/Goals for Our Society:

• Rosary and Chaplet said at each funeral. Usually at the start of the review on day of funeral. 
• Four Masses per year said for intention of the souls in Purgatory. 
• Monthly fast (as simple or complex as individual chooses)
• One Rosary said per week for souls in Purgatory 
• Indulgences, which include:
  • receiving Confession within 8 days of completion of the indulgence
  • receiving Holy Communion within 8 days of completion of the indulgence
  • praying for the intentions of the Pope and living in a state of grace (you must have the interior disposition of complete detachment from sin, even venial sin)

Mass intention for the Forgotten Souls in Purgatory on All Souls Day November 1st at Noon.  Mass intention for All Deceased Members of St. Michael Catholic Church on November 2nd Mass time is 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM.
